More Game Storage

I recently rearranged the stop of the boys' closet so we can fit more games up there. Some of you might remember that I got rid of 18 other game boxes last summer. We also have games in our coat closet in the hallway- on a bookcase I have in there. But after Christmas, somehow we needed more storage. We are huge gaming family... ahem.

Ok and there are the games that Dan and I had when we were young (like Monopoly, Othello, Clue) and some games from our young and married days.

Oh...and the games on the shelf in our school room that are NOT part of the 18 in that storage system linked above.

Dan would say we have too many games. I don't agree. For example, there are some really great add-ons for Dominion that look appealing!

I will concede that since J5 will play Ticket to Ride, Stratego, and other more difficult games, we might be able to part with those really young games at this point. Gasp.

Does your family enjoy games? Sometimes on a really cold day or a really rainy day, we put the names of a bunch of games in a hat and spend the day drawing choices and playing that game together. Order pizza or Chinese and have a great family game day! Any day!

It is funny how many games we have in common. Okay, maybe not, given how many games each of our families has.

Catan is a favorite and we have bought some of the add-ons. We also have Carcassone, Stratego, Blokus, Risk, Ticket to Ride, Sequence, Boggle.

One that is similar to Blokus that we like is RingZ and another popular one that we play a lot when we have friends over is Qwirkle.

My older son is really into military campaigns and has games like Axis & Allies and a whole slew by Columbia Games. In fact, He just bought himself the game Westfront 2 and has been tracking it via UPS. He expects it to arrive today. (A little incentive to get his work done before it arrives!)

We love games and are getting a chance to play more now that we're homeschooling. We have several in your picture. My girls are really loving No Stress Chess.

You can never have too many games! :) It is much better than watching TV. Our family loves to play games! We play games about 4 nights a week with our 15 and 17 year old. Last year our favorite game was Bananagrams.
Blessings,
Amanda

dstb- we have Axis and Allies but have not played. Man oh man if only you were nearby, my 12yo would be in heaven! He's dying to play this game and Dan is stonewalling him! I may have to break down and play pretty soon!

Hi Heather,

I do wish we lived closer. (We're in northern CT near the airport).

My son has figured out a way to play Axis & Allies by himself. I think he somehow just takes turns as if he were playing different people. Occasionally he gets his brother or a friend to play, but it is definately not on my list of games to play.

I told him he should see if he could start a little club at the library to play these types of games, but I think he is too shy to really pursue it.
