Survey of the American Girls II- Molly

Our American Girl co-op class continues. We did two weeks of Molly recently (and started Kaya this week) so I thought I'd update you all on our activities. I am hopeful that when things settle down, I can share with you the schedule I used for the class so you might be able to use it as well. We got to work on some decoupage and it wouldn't have been complete without some Andrews Sisters singing while we worked!

The girls got to do some decoupage on canning jars. We used tissue paper and Mod Podge. I love Mod Podge- have you ever seen the Mod Podge Rocks! blog?

In addition to the craft project, the girls make a map of the US during the time of that girl and they do a map of the state she lives in. We also talk about America at that time and what is going on with US culture. Of course Molly afforded a lot of talk of WWII and what that meant to families on the "home front".

Here is the finished product. I had hoped to get to the dollar store to add some sewing notions, but never made it there before this class. As you can see, we did a pin cushion top.
We have four more weeks of co-op...it's going so fast and what a strange semester with a funky holiday schedule and a snow day. The first week of May is the last day (we break for Easter Monday) and it will be our co-op night. I'm looking forward to sharing our American Girl display with you from that night.

What a lovely project. I am sure the girls had fun. My daughter would enjoy doing that, she likes the American Girl series.

Following you so I can learn more about your AG projects.

Welcome Martha! Thanks for following!

I hope to get the former lists compiled soon. For now, make sure to see my American Girl category or do a search on AG to see what else we've done. My daughter is a huge fan!

Heather,
I am very interested in your class plans and schedule. My girls love AG and have friends that we could do a co-op with. Can't wait for you to share. Looking into ordering the Big FIAR book too!;o)

you have such a great co-op. How would you recommend finding a similar co-op?

I am waiting on your Kaya info.
