Watercolor Afternoon

A few weeks ago (before the week of the play), we had a plan to work on some painting. I brought out the biocolor paints and we did a project on Vincent VanGogh from the book Discovering Great Artists. We also did the artist study from the Hearts and Trees Winter/Spring kit.

Materials and tablecloth are set for the project.

The kids got to hear about Mr. VanGogh and take a look at this picture of Starry Night. They also answered questions about the painting.

R9 uses some warm colors on the blackground above her city buildings. See those work box lids in the background? Clever, eh?

We had to move indoors because of the wind. Rats.

The next morning we did more painting, but this time we chose watercolors. Everyone had a great time painting and they are ready for more! This is J4's person.
J4 is a color mixer...

E11 showed us how to do line drawings again. He's an expert, but it takes a long time.
I love to paint with the kids. This summer I'm planning on a summer adventure for ART. Stay tuned for the updates.

I just checked this book out from the library and was thinking of using it for our co-op for artist study. Where do you get those worksheets? I would love to have those to add to it.

I got the worksheet at www.heartsandtress.blogspot.com She sometimes sells the pdfs in groups, but also she sells seasonal kits with an art study in them.

Have fun with the co-op!
