Plant Experiment 2

I thought it would be a great idea for E10 to do some experiments out of the book below- Plants (Mind Boggling Experiments You Can Turn into Science Experiments). I chose one on how beans can soak up water. I put the book in one of his workboxes and gave him the materials to get started. Of course it ended up that his siblings joined in and made their own data charts.

This book is great for the kids to follow along for themselves.

The first part of the experiment was to see how much water the beans absorbed and the kids recorded the final volume 24 hours later.

The next part of the experiment was to over saturate a new set of beans and to observe the results. After that we'll see if all beans react the same way. We'll keep you posted.
