Check out this tree skeleton! This one is our favorite backyard tree. We just took down its counterpart because it wasn't as healthy.
This nest is in a set of brambles that run between our yard and the neighbors'. It is one of two and if I had to guess on a resident, I'd say it belongs to a pair of cardinals. We see them a lot in that set of bushes. Should be nice and insulated. There are large pieces of plastic in each nest.
