The story Grandfather's Journey tells about a man who grows up in Japan wearing kimonos and leaves to see the US- wearing European clothes for the first time. The kids got the chance to try on a kimono today.
Some Japanese foods- my mom had a Japanese friend while I was growing up and I still remember her rice rolls. I used to eat them by like the POUND. I love them so much!! I can just taste it now. I-5 and R7 had fun sitting down on the bamboo mat to a nice meal.

How cool that you have all that neat Japanese stuff - clogs and everything! Looks like a fun time at your museum too. Happy Rowing!

Fun stuff! I'm inspired to do more of that myself... Lynn
Heather I want to link to this in a homesteading carnival. Let me know if that's a problem. The carnival will be up on Monday.
No problem Sheri. I was thinking about what I could contribute. Thanks for asking!
You know I was thinking of taking my niece to Port Discovery because they are having something about Japan right now. I can eat sushi anytime as long as it is not raw. Growing up I had several Japanese pen pals which was a fun experience.
