We have collected a small library over the years with title like Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and Treasure Island. We keep them in the car for both long and short trips, we have a listening corner in our house, we've loaded many titles onto mp3 players and our kids listen as they fall asleep or as they do chores. They make great rainy day activities and save our sanity on sick days!
