I would be honored if you all took a moment to vote for my sister for Honorary Bat Girl for the Baltimore Orioles.
Kim is a 16 yr survivor of breast cancer and a huge advocate and volunteer for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. She actively reviews research grants and travels the country as a volunteer. Please read her story in her own words below!
As a 16 year breast cancer survivor/advocate, I am known as Pinkim. A name given to me by fellow breast cancer survivors / advocates years ago as I am rarely seen wearing any other color. Even my Oriole hats are pink! My daughter was just 2 when I was diagnosed and at 19 she is also an advocate. I have to say that it just tickles me pink that my two biggest passions have teamed up to fight breast cancer. I have been an Oriole fan since the sixth grade and I have been a Komen Maryland and National volunteer for fifteen. I have been a past Komen MD RFTC chair and I am the current survivor chair. I am currently on the Komen Advocates in Science Steering Committee. All of this, while working full time! It would certainly give me great pleasure to be able to wear Oriole Pink and support my two favorite teams on Mother's day, I wonder, may I throw out a Pink ball?
Click this link to vote. Once you get there, you use the team drop down list on top and choose Orioles. Once that screen comes up, you can see the picture of Kim (shown above) and click on it. Just click vote and hopefully we can help Kim with her desire to be an Orioles Honorary Bat Girl!

Heather, did you know you can vote more than once? I voted from the forums and then saw this and did it again. Hope she wins!
Yes...I did hear that! (my mom did an hour's worth earlier today) Thanks for voting.

Hey Heather, in case anyone asks, the voting ended at noon on the 14th so now we wait...they decide on the 18th. I am not sure when the winner is notified.
Thanks again!
