Gingerbread Fun

Some wonderful friends we had over at Thanksgiving left this kit on Dan's desk at work just before Christmas. How nice! With Dan's graduate recognition ceremony (NOT a graduation), we hadn't planned on lots of baking before Christmas. So bonus that we did not have to bake ahead of time. We just went for it!

J3 loves to decorate with the candies.

E10 made some VA Tech football Santas. Of course.

R8 likes lots of stuff on her gingerbread... Dan used coloring paste to achieve that awesome deep color but it was not too friendly on the teeth. I-6's was Batman colored. Everything in his life right now is black and yellow.

We had to include a reading of Gingerbread Baby by Jan Brett. In the past, I've done lots of activities with the book in addition to the festive cookies.

Here are a few fun sites for checking out. Remember...winter is long (at least here) - gingerbread isn't just for Christmas!

Love it Heather! We had a Gingerbread baby day here too. ;-)

By the way- your book is on it's way to you. Finally. (blush).

Wow Jennifer! It took me a while to figure out what book you were talking about.

We will look forward to receiving it!

Reminds that we are supposed to start up again this month. Yes?
