Our First County Fair

This week is the 4-H Fair in the next county over where the kids belong to a 4-H Club. The kids were busy yesterday morning putting the finishing touches on their entries. There were a lot of things to choose from this year. They have worked hard. In the end this is what they decided on for the first time around.

Check out the finished product! It's an imitation of the Kandinsky painting Squares with Concentric Circles. R8 titled hers Squares of Circles.

Some of you might remember this piece as an art assignment from Paul Revere's Ride. It is a reflection of a British ship in Boston Harbor in the moonlit water. R8 also entered two of her fall poems. She is entering as a Cloverbud this year so her project entries are for participation only.

E9 entered this fabulous picture of his grandparents into the category of photography- single digital images with no editing. This was the very first picture he took with his new Kodak Easyshare camera from his birthday last September when he got it. He chose black and white and it turned out really well. Now Dan's parents are blog famous!

Remember that The National Popcorn Day Popcorn Extravaganza from the winter time? Well E9 decided to do a formal presentation of that data which you see below. This is in the science project- experiment section.

So, the kids are excited to go back later this week and see the results. We also want to check out the work from other kids. The group turned in a display on survival. We contributed to the information on it but missed putting the display together last week due to VBS. Great job group!
