The tadpoles only need about 4 or 5 inches of water as well. And a rock to climb on once they sprout legs. When we had them, I changed the water twice a week, using tap that had been sitting out. They go from froglet to frog pretty rapidly, so be sure to have somewhere for them to climb up.
